Developmental Football International Opens First Round of Off-Season Tryouts

(Whittier, CA)- The first round of tryouts began this weekend with the California Wolfpack hosting their first tryout at Whittier College. Coaches and front office staff were excited to get a headstart in shaping their team for the 2018 DFI season.

Owner Herb Cash stated that “being a new team, I feel like I’m behind the eight-ball. There are teams with returning guys, so it’s important to us to be very active this off-season.

“I feel like the tone of our off-season activities has been set by our great examples in the Coyotes and Sharks organizations, that it forces us to bring our A-game,” he said.

On Sunday the Wolfpack were able to meet and workout over 20 fresh faces eager for a shot at playing in the DFI’s inaugural season.

When asked about the turnout, Cash responded, “Personally 80-percent of the guys were guys that I’ve never seen before. That’s a good sign. We are appealing to athletes outside our immediate network, and there was definitely talent out there.”

If you missed this tryout, don’t worry - there will be several tryouts for DFI teams throughout the coming months.
